BT Volunteers is part of BT's Community Investment programme which sees 1% of pre-tax profits being invested back into the Community it serves. www.bt.com/betterworld. In 2005/2006 this will be in excess of 10 million. The scheme was originally set up to provide a tangible example of BT people working in the Community and to provide BT support to its people wanting to volunteer. Volunteering is a good way to demonstrate Community Investment in action and helps integrate our charity and Education activities.

BT Volunteers deliver the BT Education Programme in schools and are available to work across the UK, subject to resource availability, to help improve the communication skills of pupils, teachers and parents. They are organised into approximately 150 Clubs, each with resources and equipment to deliver in the classroom.
